Church Notes: Elevated by Evangelism

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. - Romans 1:16

The Initiative of Evangelism

There are many crowns listed in the Bible. The Crown of life, righteousness, (the) Incorruptible Crown, and The Crown of Glory. But the Crown of Rejoicing is reserved for people who evangelize and bring people into the Kingdom. Our Senior Pastor taught that people often respond to church invites after many meaningful and intentional engagements. He also stated that we must not wait for a special moment to invite someone to church or to share the Gospel. The great commission must not become the greatest omission. We must eagerly do the work of evangelist!

Build relationships, not just contacts

You must find someone to evangelize to and invite to church!

Disciple someone!

Follow up on someone!

Call someone!

Text someone!

Until they come to church!

Following the instructions and meeting the criteria of Scripture is a catalyst for the promises of God!

For Example,

But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

  1. Keep your head

  2. Endure hardship

  3. Do the work of an evangelist

THEN, fully carry out the ministry God has given you!

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. - Hebrews 6:12

  1. Don’t be lazy

  2. Be patient

  3. Have faith

THEN, you can inherit what has been promised!

If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;

- Isaiah 1:19

  1. Be willing

  2. Be Obedient

THEN, you will eat the good things of the land!

Who have you brought to Jesus?

We don’t need to have the perfect message we learn as we go. But first, we must go forth! - 2 Timothy 4:5

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; - Mark 16:17

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? - 1 Thessalonians 2:19

The Woman at the Well

We see that Jesus was intentional to engage with the Woman at the Well. Jesus broke social, cultural, gender, moral, and religious barriers in order to relate to, evangelize, and win her over to the Kingdom! She was thirsty for the Living water and once she received she evangelized to those around her!

39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word.42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed [a]the Christ, the Savior of the world.” - John 4:39-42
